N2 Gas Lubricant System with Hard Coatings Will Open The Future of Surface Technology of MEMS and Precious machine
Micro machines and other small and precicion devices such as MEMS cannot allow conventional oil and powder lubrication so that new type of lubrication is necessary. Nitrogen gas Carbon Nitride coating can realize friction coefficient as low as 0.003 so that it is very promising for future lubrication system of such machines. In this study, the mechanism of low friction generated by gas adsobtion and the practical used of CNx coating is evaluated with objective to achieve design guidline aimed at Tribo-system
